Understanding Time Drift in Syncs
Last updated: September 9, 2025
Propexo syncs data with your Property Management System (PMS) on a fixed schedule. However, the actual start time of a sync may drift slightly from the expected schedule.
Why Does This Happen?
Each sync must finish before the next one begins. If a sync takes longer than expected, the following sync will then run one time interval after initial sync's completion time.
For example:
Syncs are scheduled every 30 minutes.
A sync scheduled for 12:00 PM runs and finishes at 12:10 PM.
The next sync will start at 12:40 PM, not 12:30 PM.
Potential Solution
If available in your subscription tier, you can use a custom sync schedule to ensure syncs happen at selected intervals during selected times of the week. For more information on using custom sync schedules, please refer to this article.
Key Takeaway
This behavior prevents overlapping jobs and ensures data is processed consistently, but it may cause gradual drift from the original schedule.
